Mini dental implants in atrophic bone ?!!! 1 Year, 9 Months ago
I am a dentist completed my studies in UK, Libyan in origin. I have been placing dental implants for only 2 years now.

I have watech a short clip of Dr.Todd completed placing 10 mini implants in a patient, on the OPG it seems like the posterior implants are slightly more or less partially in the sinus>>>

Is this procedure safe?
Does it have solid scientific evidence from literature?
Immediate loading for minis, specially posterior teeth, will it last?
Also how can I learn this procedure?? DVDs?? Live??

Many thanks in Advance for answering my question...

Dr.

I think if you review the literature on implants that extend into the sinus cavity one thing stands out. If there is an intimate seal around the implant then bacteria should not be able to move from the oral cavity to the sinus cavity. I think Dr. Hilt Tatum has said, 'What is the clinical significance of an implant that perforates into the sinus cavity?' None really if the bone provides a tight seal.

I would suggest that minis would offer this kind of seal as the mini condenses and compresses the bone as it threads in.

I personally like to place several minis for posterior teeth and splint them together with composite and leave them alone to integrate.

Best regards,

Paresh

Dental implants are titanium rods that are secured into a drilled hole in the jaw bone - this then acts as a root replacement. Titanium is used to create the rod as this _meta_l is well tolerated by the body and will not provoke an allergic reaction.

So is it a common practice to have an implant that perforates into the sinus cavity or is something that should be avoided if possible. What are the reasons that would cause an implant to be need to be installed this way. Also I am not sure what the difference is between mini and regular implants. How would I find out which Portland dentists use which types implants in my area?

RS2 Gold 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago
So it was late on Thanksgiving Eve, RuneScape Gold as I slept in the bedroom of my youth, a familiar hand hesitantly run across my face to brush the hair from my forehead. Then a kiss, RS Gold ever so gently, touched my brow. In my memory, for the thousandth time, I recalled the night my young voice complained, RS2 Gold "don't do that anymore — your hands are too rough!"
